As the war in Syria surpasses 10 years, the need for humanitarian assistance has drastically increased. Food and safe water in Syria is scarce. A collapsed economy means severe food shortages and inflated prices beyond what a refugee can afford. Most live in tents as buildings are heavily in need of repairs due to bomb damage. In the footprints of a refugee.
You can’t remember life without war, as you were born during it. Your father has since been killed, you can’t remember much about him. You watch your mother starve as she gives what little food she has to you and your siblings, its not enough to satisfy your hunger. Mother coughs a lot at night which keeps you all awake, as all you have is 1 leaky tent which is freezing in the winter and like an oven in the summer. You have no idea what education is, you’re so busy surviving that until not you have never really lived.
