Our Journey
How we began
1998 - After completing over a decade of study of Islamic Sciences, Shaykh Zaqir founded Darul Arqam Educational Trust and registered it as a charity, in order to serve the UK public. The intention of founding Darul Arqam Educational Trust (the parent charity of Revive Darul Arqam), was to empower the isolated and under-serviced in society. The focus was to strength the local Muslim community. This was founded in the heart of Leicester. Although there was a stronghold of Mosques, few were offering inclusive community focused activities. This work continues until this very day and the horizons of Darul Arqam have spread internationally.
How we began
Revive is Founded
2019 - As Darul Arqam Trust as a Mosque, Madrassah and community centre progressed from strength to strength, the community needed an outlet of where to send their Zakat and Sadaqah for the highest benefit for all. Shaykh Zaqir had become aware from his teachers abroad that humanitarian aid was often ending up in the wrong hands, inti thew hands of the oppressors. Instead of helping refugees in crises it was in many cases worsening their situation. From the deep understanding of his teachers, Shaykh Zaqir was able to direct aid into the most vulnerable, isolated and needy communities. this gave birth to Revive as a UK registered Charity in February 2020.
Revive is Founded
Revive focuses on sustainable aid
After Revive's early years of operation in which we saw some of the most needy and isolated communities receiving lifesaving aid drops, Revive quickly realised that these communities need more than sporadic aid drops. Aid is urgently needed in lifesaving situations, but what happened beyond the disaster? People need a sustainable source of aid they can rely on. Revive launched their first ever bread factory, producing close to 800,000 flat breads in the first year alone. These are distributed week in week out to rural isolated refugee communities, who otherwise have no other means of provision and would starve!

Revive increases focus on Sustainability
2022 - After witnessing the impact of the bread factory and the economic crisis in Syria intensifying bread and wheat shortages, Revive increased their presence of the Bread Factory appeal doubling the effort to produce over 150,0000 breads annually to sustain isolated refugee populations.

Where We Are Today
Revive's mission is to continue to provide lifesaving humanitarian aid to refugee communities around the globe as disasters unfold. Furthermore, we are intensifying our efforts to relieve hunger in the world by establishing more bread factories consistently and sustainably feed populations of isolated impoverished refugees.
