In the footprints of a refugee.

I remember the days before the war broke out. My family was big and busy, we would enjoy food around the table together. Today, many members of my family have died. Some are missing. Instead of eating together, our bodied consume themselves. We are wasting away. I barely recognise myself as my bones protrude through my skin. If I get sick, I can’t afford medical treatment to help. Day after day I watch as more and more graves are being dug. The question is, what will put us in them? Starvation or deadly diseases such as cholera and coronavirus? Will I be next?

The Prophet ﷺ said “The people of Yemen have the gentlest and most clement of hearts. Faith is Yemeni and Wisdom is Yemeni” Bukhari

For the Yemeni refugees and victims of war, there is no escape. What will we say, when we are asked what we did to protect the people of Yemen, if we just watch as they perish? Prevent another life being lost today and click donate now.
