The Scholars opinion on what is special about the 12th Rabi al-Awwal
“A Messenger has come to you from amongst yourselves. Your suffering distresses him: he is deeply concerned for you and full of kindness and mercy towards the believers.” (Qur'an al-Tawbah : 128)
Our noble master Anas ibn Malik رضي الله عنه reported that the Messenger of God ﷺ said: “None of you believes until I am more beloved to him than his children, his father and all people.” [al-Bukhari and Muslim]
Believed to be the 12th of Rabi al-Awwal (the exact date holds a difference of opinions amongst scholars) on a Monday, in The Year of The Elephant is when he was born. The year was named as such due to a miracle which took place in Mecca (the city in which he was born) preceding his blessed birth in which an elephant protected the Ka’ba from an invading Abyssinian army. This was one of multiple miracles which took place surrounding his ﷺ blessed birth.

The Biggest Mercy to Mankind
The way to Allah is to follow the way of The Prophet ﷺ. Without his noble example, how would we know how to reach Our Lord and perform acts of worship that He loves? During the month in which this guiding light was sent to us, let’s seek to draw closer to his blessed way. The Prophet ﷺ always looked after orphans.
Sahl ibn Sa’d reported The Prophet ﷺ said “The one who cares for an orphan and Myself will be together in Paradise like this,” and He ﷺ held his two fingers together to illustrate. – Sahih al Bukhari
