What are the Benefits of Doing Qurbani?

The benefits of doing Qurbani are many, but one of the core benefits is that, like the fasting of Ramadan, it helps us to attain Taqwa (God Consciousness) through the sacrifice of our wealth, and the distribution of it, and alms to the poor.

Further, when we make the sacrifice of Qurbani, we are affirming our submission, our ubudiyyah (slavehood), and our servitude to God Most High, that the Prophet Ibrahim (AS) exemplified when commanded to sacrifice his own son. It is a lesson in self-restraint, obedience, righteousness and Taqwa.

“Neither their meat nor blood reaches Allah. Rather it is your piety that reaches Him…” (Quran 22:37)

Additionally, your generosity in your Qurbani reaches those who are most in need of it, some who will be eating meat for the first time in months/years – imagine the relief for the families who you reach! When you do Qurbani with Revive you are ensuring that fresh, quality meat is given to the suffering who cannot afford to get meat.

Qurbani also serves as a means to remember and take responsibility for providing for the most vulnerable across the world, and in our own communities, spreading joy, and creating a blessed sense of harmony and unity, ensuring they can also feel part of the celebrations of the blessed day of Eid!

“The one who wholeheartedly performs Qurbani of an animal for reward, his Qurbani will serve as a barrier between him and hellfire.” — Prophet Muhammad (SAW)
