What should we do in The Last 10 Nights of Ramadan?

Syria needs bread for the year ahead!

Allah Almighty revealed an entire chapter on Laylat al-Qadr:

“Indeed, We sent it down on The Night of al-Qadr. What will explain to you what The Night of al-Qadr is? The Night of al-Qadr is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend in it with their Lord’s permission for every task. Peace, it is, until the break of dawn.”

Qur’an 97:1-5

it is said that The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was shown the lives of people before him and it was as if other nations had reached the level of deeds which other nations had reached due to their long lives. So Allah granted him the Night of al-Qadr which is better than a thousand months. We should seek to exert ourselves in worship, following the example and advise of The Holy Prophet ﷺ.

Abu Hurayrah reported that The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Whoever fasts in Ramadan with true faith and devotion, his sins will be forgiven and he who stands [in worship] on Laylat al-Qadr with true faith and devotion, his prior sins will be forgiven."

The cousin of The Holy Prophet ﷺ Abd-allah ibn Abbas narrated that Allah chose to reveal his Divine Word from the Preserved Tablet to the lowest heavenly sphere on this auspicious night. From here onwards, The Qur’an was revealed gradually over the course of twenty three years to The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. We should seek to exert ourselves in recitation of The Qur’an during this Blessed Night.

Anas ibn Malik reported: Ramadan began, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'This month has come to you and it contains a night that is better than a thousand months. Whoever is deprived of it has been deprived of all good; and none will be deprived of its good except the utterly unfortunate.'

Spend the last 10 nights of Ramadan seeking out this night. Even if you feel you have not done enough so far this Ramadan due to your busy lifestyle, Allah has given you a chance to spend just 10 days in which you can seek to recompense just from 1 night of worship alone. Catching Laylat al-Qadr can change the course of our path and spirituality transform us for the year ahead. The wisdom of this night being hidden, is that we exert ourselves in worship continuously, setting good habits for exiting Ramadan to uphold the habit of night worship for the year ahead and making the most of all of the nights, in which our deeds are multiplied.

Lady A'ishah reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Search for the Night of al-Qadr in the odd nights of the final ten days of Ramadan.'

Some scholars are of the opinion that the night of al-Qadr changes from year to year. This is an opportunity granted by Allah Most High, that we should not waste. During this special night, observe the best of deeds and give Sadaqah. Make lots of heartfelt supplications in private for those suffering in the Ummah and donate generously to help those in need!
