Providing Bread in Gaza

Revive focuses on sustainable giving, however this isn’t always possible in the immediate aftermath of disaster. Our early response in Gaza focused on life sustaining aid drops. However, thanks to The Grace of Allah and the support of Revive’s donor community, we have been able to establish more sustainable means of getting aid to reach Gaza, through establishing ongoing daily bread distribution.

What is the impact of donating bread in Gaza?

  • Bread is easily produced
Bread can be made in large quantities, using ver few raw ingredients meaning that its a versatile product, easily produced even in refugee camps and in the wake of disaster.
  • Feed more people per pound
Gaza is on the brink of famine. It’s crucial that we stretch our resources as far as possible to as many people as possible.
  • Staple of the Palestinian diet
Bread is a staple ingredient of the Palestinian diet. Providing bread provides a taste of home.
  • Long-term Aid Palestinians can rely on.
As our bread production and distribution is operating from within Gaza using existing flour reserves, there’s no need to wait on border openings for bread to be distributed.

What bread has Revive distributed in Gaza?

We are consistently distributing brea din Gaza on a daily basis. Here’s the impact we are having:

  • A total of 14,850 flatbreads are distributed daily.
  • 445,500 flatbreads were distributed daily during Ramadan in North Gaza.
