Strawberry greenhouse in Bosnia

Our Bosnia Agriculture Project

One of the main challenges facing Bosnia and Herzegovina is the high rate of poverty, especially in rural areas. Despite the outward beauty of Bosnia, there is much hidden poverty. A lack of medical care, and social, and governmental support means it’s people suffer greatly on top of the aftereffects of the mass genocide of 1995. To address this problem, we launched the Bosnia Agriculture Project.

The Bosnia Agriculture Project is a comprehensive initiative that aims to improve the livelihoods of the impoverished. The project provides them with the equipment, seeds and resources to help them grow and harvest their produce and then sell them in the markets to cover their living costs.

We currently have six greenhouses in Kacuni. This is not only a means of finding a way out of poverty, but also a source of social relief, and general welfare. The lack of pesticides and the use of organic farming methods mean a better outcome for both the environment and the consumer!
