CLICK PLAY to Watch the Pakistan Floods Emergency Response!
Revive’s emergency response was coordinated in Balochistan in a region where monsoon rain fell for the last week of July, continuing for 8 weeks. The area is a mountainous region. The excessive rainfall caused water to flow from the mountains, into the valley where peoples homes were, destroying everything in its path and water levels reaching up to 7ft deep. These colossal floods displaced people from their homes to a local “safe” and “dry” area, however they have nothing.
Monsoons do not discriminate between whose lives they destroy. Many of the victims are women, children and elderly people who are now vulnerable to catching diseases. Including the amazing effort of Revive fundraisers in urgently coordinating a Peak District hike, you have contributed to emergency food parcels and cooked food being distributed to this community which has been plunged into extreme poverty from their previous life of poverty, as their homes, their harvest and also their haven has been lost. Thank you donors for what you have given!
