How is Revive getting aid into Gaza in Ramadan?
Revive has been on the ground since October within a week of the intensification of humanitarian need in Gaza. However, week on week the news is becoming more bleak about the humanitarian crisis. Children are dyeing of starvation, some countries such as Jordan are resulting to desperate measures such as aid drops by air and settlers are blockading aid routes into Gaza. Even for those working in the humanitarian aid field, the situation appears increasingly grim. However, by Allah’s Mercy and Grace, we find ways through!
It is by working with networks of Scholars who already had pre-established relationships with NGO’s and aid warehouses in the region, that we are able to navigate through these difficult challenges and deliver Aid in Gaza this Ramadan. So how is the aid reaching with Revive?
- Aid is provided from within Palestine – Due to decades of history of humanitarian disasters within the region, NGO’s have previously positioned themselves to be able to rapidly respond in the event of a siege. This is through warehouses stockpiled with non-perishable and canned goods. The aim of this aid is to continue to drip-feed it out, so that the population isn’t suddenly left without food. However, this is an exhaustible supply. For now, we continue to sustainably distribute it for as long as we can. Some of these warehouses are positioned outside of Gaza.
- Via aid trucks through border openings – Although reports on social media are highlighting blockades, there are periods when borders open and allow aid trucks through. Revive is delivering Aid over the border into Gaza. Borders have opened on the 2nd Ramadan, even if for a while. However, the amount getting through isn’t enough to feed 2.3 million people! We don’t let this stop us, we help who we can and remain focused on continuing.
- Wealth reparation for humanitarian aid. This works through providing Palestinians who have fled from Gaza with equivalent wealth to that which they have left in Gaza and are unable to access. Thereafter utilising that wealth that remains in Gaza to provide critical aid.
- Pre-existing formal Aid Routes – Gaza’s long standing history of humanitarian suffering has meant aid into the region has been well established prior to October 2023. The humanitarian crisis has increased significantly, meaning although pre-existing aid routes can be utilised, more needs to be given!
What Has Revive Donated in Ramadan 2024 so far?
Each day of Ramadan in Gaza we have fed 1000 people Iftar per day with freshly baked flat breads. We are distributing food parcels with canned and non-perishable goods to sustain families throughout Ramadan and into Eid. We base our distribution on the circumstances and need of the people receiving it.
We donate baked bread to areas where people have no means of preparing food for themselves. Food parcels are given to areas where they have the facility to prepare basic meals. By combining this distribution in this way, it makes it more sustainable to reach more people in Gaza throughout the whole month.

We need your help to donate Iftar in Gaza throughout Ramadan!
