Fasting the 3 White Days, Mondays & Thursdays

Why should we fast the 3 White Days of the Month and also on Monday's & Thursdays?

Fasting 8 days in every months

Fasting every Monday and Thursday means you will fast eight days in every month, as opposed to only three days if you fast just the White Days. Fasting the white days also, means we may fats more than 8 days n the month which is even better for us!

Drawing closer to Allah and His Messenger ﷺ

Fasting regularly increases us in love and yearning for The Prophet Muhammed ﷺ by becoming conscious that we are following his noble example by fasting, upholding as many Sunnah actions throughout the days and nights of our fasting as possible, knowing that Allah Most High rewards the fast and only He knows this reward and to increase in reading supplications taught to us by The Prophet ﷺ throughout the fast.

Fasting on the 27th Rajab

Fasting in the Sacred Months is better for us than fasting during other months. Umar RA was asked regarding if The Prophet ﷺwould fast during the Month of Rajab – to which he replied “Yes and he would ennoble it (The Month of Rajab).”

Fasting on al-Isra wal-Miraj

Fasting on the day after al-Isra wal-Miraj (27th Ramadan) was not specifically mentioned under the authority of The Prophet ﷺ. However, fasting is an act which is highly rewarded and draws us closer to Allah Most High. To fast on this day doesn’t contradict the way of The Prophet ﷺ therefore, the pious still advise to observe a fast on this day.

Preparing for Ramadan

Fasting regularly throughout the year allows us to keep ourselves prepared for Ramadan and to also make the most out of other virtuous times of year in which it is encouraged to fast! Fasting was not practised in Ramadan alone but rather, regularly throughout the year and it is amongst the Deeds which Allah loves most! Therefore it is highly encouraged to fast regularly throughout the month!
