Is Humanitarian Aid able to reach into Gaza?
Humanitarian aid in Gaza consists of 2 types of distribution:
1) International Humanitarian aid
2) Internal Humanitarian Aid.
The former relies on the borders being open in order for aid trucks to cross and deliver aid from international NGO’s and governments. The latter refers to organisations who have had a continuous ongoing presence in Gaza prior to the violence escalating.
International aid is crucially needed as warehouse supplies are limited and will run out! Furthermore warehouses are vulnerable to destruction by the ongoing military offensive.
How is Humanitarian Aid Distributed in Gaza?
Furthermore, when the border is open aid trucks add to this support by providing crucial aid supplies from international governments and organisations. Organisations often work together to ensure the needs of civilians on the ground are met.
What Aid has reached Gaza so far?
Aid trucks were able to cross the Rafah crossing into South Gaza on Saturday 21st October. However this was only a tiny portion of what is needed by those suffering on the ground! Revive has been distributing on the ground from warehouse supplies since the situation escalated.
What have Revive Distributed in Gaza?
Due to the lack of international aid being let through the borders, revive is strategically purchasing only the most necessary aid! So far we have distributed:
Emergency food.
5000 litres of fuel for generators.
Desalination plants for drinking water.
We’re doing the most necessary actions in order to ensure maximum benefit for suffering civilians on the ground – this is the necessary emergency strategy of providing humanitarian aid in war zones!
