How do we prove our love for The Prophet ﷺ during this blessed month?
It’s Rabbi al-Awwal, so let’s revive a Sunnah! The Prophet ﷺ was the most generous amongst his community and neighbours. The famous Hadith of The Prophet ﷺ states “He is not a believer who eats his fill, whilst his neighbour beside him goes hungry.” But how many of us actually live true to this?
In an age of excess, it is rare for us to find our immediate neighbour in such need, or even those of up to 30 households away. So let’s consider our closest neighbouring Muslim country, what state do we find them to be?
Our recent visit to our European Muslim neighbours in Bosnia revealed the true extent of hidden poverty in this region. Unfortunately, many of our neighbours in Bosnia are going without whilst we find ourselves to be satiated, so let’s revive this Sunnah through ensuring that our poor Muslim neighbours can take their fill throughout this month!
For the equivalent cost of a single meal in a restaurant, we can feed our Bosnian neighbours throughout Rabbi al Awwal! £27 provides a refugee in Bosnia with food, firewood and hygiene products for the entire month!
